Can 2 different LDMS Remote Consoles exist on the same PC?

Can more than one remote console version exists on the same PC?  I have three cores at different versions of LDMS (9.0 SP4, 9.5 SP2, & 9.6).  I would like to be able to remote into the 9.5 core and the 9.6 core using 1 of my 2 desktop PCs.  I am testing 9.6 and do not want to have to get another PC just to use the 9.6 remote console in my office.  Can the remote console for 9.6 be used with the 9.5 SP2 core server also?

WinPE 4.0 and USB 3

Anyone successfully get USB 3.0 Host and Hub drivers to inject via HII in a Windows 7 image with the new WinPE 4.0 that came with SP1?

I used to be able to load the host drivers in WinPE 3.0 to allow it to see the hub so HII could detect it was there.  In WinPE 4.0, there are no USB 3.0 drivers for it since its Windows 8 based (at least none that i can find).  I tried using the windows 7 drivers but it errors on loading during WinPE setup script. Using Lenovo devices, FWIW.

Software Distribution Task stuck on "client initiated asynchronous policy execution"

I ran into an issue with a distribution task that had me a bit stumped.

The task was a simple vbscript to perform some custom developed application upgrades. I created a custom vulnerability definition that scanned for a specific file and version on the client computers. I then used the "create query for affected computers" option to establish the target for the software package and set the scheduled time for the task to kick off at a predetermined time.

All the required steps went according to plan except when the task launched at the specified time, every single client reported "the client has initiated an asynchronous policy execution". Then sat there and did nothing. After waiting nearly 45 minutes for the task to execute, I removed all the targets, then manually dropped them back in from the console and relaunched the task. They immediately started downloading and installing the software package and upgraded normally.

So my question is, why did this task do this and how do I prevent it in the future? Many of our software repairs for custom software require us to roll patches within a specified time window and I can't afford to babysit a task every time we need to update it.

Unable to add Bare Metal Servers on Remote Consoles LDMS96

Can someone please tell me if this is a bug or is it by design?

We can see the SCN file get created under the \\coreserver\ldlogon directory but the bare metal server never gets committed to the database. The same process works fine adding it from the core server.

Cannot move tasks into Team folders

We just upgraded to v9.6 from 9.5 SP1 this week.  After the upgrade I checked for all the RBA settings, and they appear to be migrated without issues.  Everything looks like just how I left it.

Today I discover that when I try to move a task from "My Tasks" folder into a "Team Tasks" folder, it would allow me to drag and drop, but the task doesn't actually get moved and it is still stuck in My Tasks folder.

Things I have checked -

1. I have LANDESK administrator rights

2. I am a member of this Team.

What else am I missing here?  Thanks in advance...

Unable to capture Image, Fresh server

$

Hi,

I have read a lot of articles here in the community very similar to my problem however it did not solve it.

I just build a new 9.5 server with Sp3 (problem appear before upgrade also)

The problem when I do capture it is stuck more than usual on Diskpart command, and then the screen disappear and nothing happened. from the below log you can see that the diskpart command was executed fine, but I doubt that.

As some other people here suggested to change the drive map to Z and Y instead of I and H, I did this also with no luck.

I have tried with both methods, running manuly by selecting the image, or by schedule task.

all the landesk services are up and running, and I even restarted the server couple of times.

Is this problem might be related to .Netframe work? because I got error that it is not installed on my server and I downloaded form the internet, maybe was a wrong version i don't know but it is 4.0.3

Please guys I am seeking for your kind of support as this is an urgent matter for me.

A new-be to LanDesk monitoring;  I got this collection of files from our LanDesk admin with the comment - see if you can make this work on our RedHat systems so we can monitor these -

Is there an FAQ for the new guys for how a command line argument might work? ... dependencies ... figuring out missing RPM(s).

Is 'provisioning' (referencing the above) different from monitoring a client ?

Boot wim does not download from PXE Rep on Dell E7240

Boot wim does not download from PXE Rep on Dell E7240. Device has Intel Boot Agent GE v1.5.38.01. MTFTP pops up but then nothing downloads.

Anyone else seen issues with this version of the Intel Boot Agent?

Yosemite and Kaspersky

We upgraded to 9.6 and everything was working fine until we upgraded our test machines to Yosemite.

Problem: av would not install

What worked:

1. vulnerability scans reported to the core

2. inventory scans reported to the core

3. Remote control worked and status displayed

Solution: installed patch found at: LANDESK Support for OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Now Kaspersky will install but the following problems still exist:

1. the "K" icon does not ever show up in the task bar

2. Quick launch has Kaspersky but it will not display a UI

3. Vulnerability scan report back to the core but it does not update the All Devices default view for "Last Vulnerability Scan Date".  If you open patch and compliance the updated information is there.

4. remote control works, however the status never updates on the "All Devices" view to show that we can connect to the device.

What do you recommend to fix these issues?

Trying to push a desktop icon to all users

Hello All,

This is probably a really simple question although I am not that knowledgeable on scripting nor pushing batch files through LANDesk, but we are trying to put a web icon on all of our employee desktops. I am sure there may be a better way to do this, if so please let me know but here is how I did it.

I created a batch script:

xcopy "\\servername\Network Support\Software\Point 11 Browser\Point 11.Ink" c:\users\public\desktop

and then created my batch script distribution package pointing to the folder the batch script is in and then creating the scheduled task. I drag my computer in for testing and it fails with error code 4.

This is the log I get when the job fails:

Why am I getting a reboot prompt 12 hours before, especially when NO devices have been assigned to the task yet.

$

I am doing an Agent Upgrade after updating from 9.5 SP2 to 9.6. I have reboot turned to never in all settings.

I am creating a reboot task to run independantly tonight between midnight and 2am. I have NOT assigned any devices to the task yet.

As soon as I created the task (NO devices assigned to it yet) I started getting reboot in 12 hours notification and prompts.

I have gone back through the Reboot Settings and the implemented Reboot Policy says Act as if Reboot is Never Needed.

Any thoughts?

I have a machine that has agent installed fine, is displaying in the all devices. However i have noticed that the remote agent control status has not been loaded. When i run a scan from the machine itself it seems to work and data has been sent to the core server. When i run a scan from the LDMS server console it fails- cba8, unable to contact the remote agent

when i do a repair job it says straight away- Cannot Find Agent

The agent has been removed and re-installed. Same agent version as other machines.

i have re ran the cba8inst.msi file no issues.

Cant do any repair jobs or scans from the LDMS?!?!?

Any help would be appreciated. **(FYI-im away next week so no reponse until the following week)**

Reboot action : Boot to managed WinPE (=PXE simu)

$

Hello,

In a provisionning template, we can choose the action "Reboot/Shutdown" and then use "Boot to Managed WinPE(Virtual Boot)" to simulate a PXE boot.

The big problem is that the boot.wim image is copied from the core server, and not from preferred server. (so 127MB WAN trafic for a computer in another country)

So my request : what is the exact command lines executed when action is Reboot : "Boot to Managed WinPE(Virtual Boot)"

I want to make a script or template to download boot.wim file from preferred server, and not from core server.

Thanks

(i can't understand why LANDesk doesn't have thought about to be able to provisionning exclusively from preferred servers (LAN traffic) to avoid WAN traffic...)

how to uninstall landesk client without server application?

Our company was sold from a large corporation who used LANDesk to remotely administrator computers.   We did not know that we should have had them initiate an uninstall before we transitioned off of their network.  Is there now a way with no access to the LANDesk server application to cleanly manually remove the client software?

Mac OSX Yosemite LANDESK Agent loses window focus

$

We recently had a couple users upgrade OSX 10.9 to OSX 10.10 'Yosemite', and it appears the currently selected window will lose focus after about a minute or two. A prime example is if you have Safari open, wait a couple minutes, and the dark grey selected screen will go light grey not allowing you to type.

We're currently running 9.6, and have applied the recent update (LANDESK Support for OS X 10.10 Yosemite), uninstalled/rre-installedhe new agent, and  this issue is still happening. Is this a known issue?

**UPDATE** LANDESK has confirmed this issue, and this is being sent to the Product Support Engineer team. It appears there is a new build that is being created. Might be best to submit a ticket if possible regarding this issue.
