I just saw that SP3 was out for LD9.5 and was wondering if the change to the agent status in SP3 helped speed up getting the status of the agents in the console?
Is anyone running Landesk 9.5 SP3?
9.6 not obeying the push schedule..
Has anyone else had any issues with a task that is scheduled for a future deployment starting immediately? I have setup both a Push and a Policy Supported Push both set for future times and both kick off before the scheduled time.

How do we remove an agent?
I've been thru the manual, and can only find 1 or 2 instances of "remove agent", and hundreds of instances of either word by itself.
We have one user who is being harrassed by LD. Every day LD wants to install some update/patch...even after we apply everything there is to apply manually, using remote control.
We don't know specifically what it's trying to install. We thought for the moment that we'd just remove the agent. But we don't know how. I had seen LANDesk listed under Add/Remove SW on my PC, but when I connected to his, it wasn't there. We're assuming that my LANDesk listing was for the console, rather than for the agent.

Microsoft Windows Patches Failing with error: wusa.exe (2149842967)
Hello,
On one particular computer all patches that apply to the Windows Operating System are failing. Patches like Adobe, Office, Java are installing fine. The error is
"C:\windows\system32\wusa.exe" returned failure exit code (2149842967)
This computer definitely has some DNS/Network issues so I may rebuild it. I had to register the DNS from the computer to get it to show in DNS again so this may not be an issue Landesk can resolve. Just looking for tips. Thank you!

Scheduler service login account error - Failed to set user name for the Scheduler service
We are having issues where our scheduler service account is being locked out by end client devices. Today, after looking over the account Landesk will not communicate correctly with the service account (same account information) on the scheduler account tab under configure services. Here is the error I get. The ldservice account is a domain administrator level account. The error also starting after core rollup to 9.6 and new agents were deployed

LDMS 9.5 PXE boot using UEFI enabled device
Anyone been able to boot a UEFI enabled device using a PXE rep from LDMS 9.5. I have tried two Dell devices (Latitude 10 Tablet and an Latitude E6430), both timeout when 'Stert with PXE IPv4'
Problems with vulscan.exe (8.80.2.31) after applying patch LD88-Spyware-20722-882v2
Recently we applied patch LD88-Spyware-20722-882v2to our Management Suite 8.8SP2A.
I have a ticket open, but curious if anyone else is experiencing the following issues:
1 Performance issues when doing a security and patch scan. Vulscan.exe now hammers the pc resources and can take up to 30 minutes to complete a scan. Previously it would take about 5 minutes to do a complete scan. This affects PCs that have real time spyware scanning enabled or disabled on PCs.
2 V ulscan.exe 8.80.2.31 is faulting module ceapi.dll 7.1.0.13 on random PCs.
3 Vulscan.exe encounters a problem and needs to close messages on other PCs.
Upgraded from 9.5 SP2 to 9.6, now some agents are continuously running Security and Compliance Manager scans back to back

We recently upgraded our LANDesk from 9.5 SP2 to 9.6. Since the upgrade, a few users are seeing the "LANDesk Security and Compliance Manager - Scan Mode (with autofix)" prompt pop up several times within a short amount of time. I took a look at the Console and checked the settings for these scans and they shouldn't be happening this often - only after the user logs in, installs/uninstalls software, or their IP address changes.
I've attached a couple screenshots of the scan, hoping someone will be able to shed some light on this. I see that it failed on a "Comparing" step - not sure if that's related.

HII Package Drivers being Missed
Hi Guys
Our OS Deployment works a treat on Most of our Dell Models.
The Deployment Script calls HII twice. It gets called during POST-OS to inject NIC drivers for when windows loads (as without the NIC driver, the build falls over when it loads windows due to not being able to communicate with the Core) ... This works fine. It also gets called in SYSTEM CONFIGURATION so that it can install driver packages using the Package distribution method. This seems to do the trick for most of our machines.
The devices have been flagged in HII and relevant packages assigned ... However during a build it seems to ignore all the packages that are assigned. The HiiClient.log shows it reapplying the NIC inf, then it finishes as though it thinks its done.
I have checked the drivers.db3 and all the device ID's are assigned with the correct packages. One thing i did notice was that the NIC Device ID doesnt appear in drivers.db3 ... But somehow its being installed.
I logged this with LANDesk before who advised to create a Package Bundle for the Drivers which we need to run after the machine is built. Although this work-around installs the drivers, im still trying to figure out why HII is not jumping into action to install the Package drivers during the build.
Has anyone else seen this behavior and if so, did you ever manage to get it fixed ? Any ideas where else to look ?

Windows 7 Deployment with an answer file

I appologise if this has been asked before but I couln't find any sign of it.
With XP when I created a unattended installation I used to put the sysprep.ini answer file in the C:\sysprep directory, when the PC booted for the first time this worked and took XP through all the neccesary steps for first time use.
I have now created a answer file usings Windows System Image Manager but where do I place this file. Everywhere on the internet seems to point at putting it on the Root of a usb stick which is then plugged into a PC being imaged. For me this doiesnt sound right when you are running windows PE.
Any ideas?
Adobe Flash Plugin type won't attempt another install after 1 browser-open install failure.
I'm aware that the Adobe Flash Player Plugin updates will fail to install if the Firefox Browser is open. It does not fail if Chrome is open (not sure why but it's not the point of this discussion).
I saw this solution to clone the definition to force firefox.exe to quit:
However, that's not my immediate concern either.
Why is it that on all subsequent vulscans, it will detect the need for the flash plugin patch, then not even try to install it even if firefox.exe isn't running.
Still doesn't work after reboots. I tried deleting the installer from the local smdcache and it doesn't even try to download the patch locally again, much less try to run it.
I've looked through the definition and detection rule details but nothing is sticking out. I am fairly new to LANDesk in the past 6 months, so someone please school me and let me know if this is intended behavior or not.
In the past i've just resulted to creating a software distribution task for the update and attach a client plugin version query for the targets to try repeatedly.
There must be an easier way?!?
I have example vulscan logs if that is helpful.
For reference, i'm experiencing this w/ the latest definition: "FLASHPLAYERPLUGINv15.0.0.223" and it's associated installer "install_flash_player_15.0.0.223.exe"
agent patches in LDMS 9.6
Hi all
I recently installed a test LDMS 9.6 server and am trying to get to grips with changes in 9.6.
I have noticed the following definitions in patch manager:
There is no description associated with each definition so I am unsure exactly what issues they are supposed to fix.
I have made these definitions available to my test clients and when I manually run a security scan on each device, I get a lot more patch activity than I would normally expect to see (almost looks like it is going round in circles)
Are these definitions part of some kind of agent health check?

Cannot delete device (LD 9.6)
I've been having trouble deploying an agent to a couple of machines. The agent installs successfully and returns an inventory scan but the machine goes into Pending Unmanaged. After a full uninstall (/forceclean) on the managed device. I go to Pending unmanaged and delete the device. As soon as I refresh, the deleted device pops back up. The device has no agent, so its not sending back inventory information.
Any ideas why this is happening? What can I do to permanently delete this device?
Server agents are trying to use desktop preferred servers?
LD 9.0 sp3, we use LANDesk for patching our servers, and a batch file software distribution task to run the restart of the servers. It used to distribute the batch files (3 files, under 1mb in size) to the servers very quickly, less than 5 minutes to hundreds of servers. Since our desktop team put in preferred servers(desktops) on their side, the batch file software distribution task takes literally 20 minutes to just download the files. It copies them over from the core server, then goes down the list of preferred servers and tries and tries to download the files???
As a work around, I added in a blank preferred.coreserver.dat file to the reboot task, and replace the current file first, so it forces it not to look at the preferred servers.
We are also seeing this issue on the new version as well, 9.6.
Landesk management agent service is getting stopped after restart

I have recently migrated to LDMS 9.6, now in couple of PC after restarting the machine the LANDesk agent management service is getting stopped automatically, rest if the PC is working absolutely fine, can somebody help me in this regards?

PolicySync /check=wait not working in 9.6
The /check parameter is not working anymore in 9.6. Is there another paramater to wait for policies (specially in provisioning templates)?

The Specefied file already has a notification GUID associated with it
I am getting the above error everytime I try and capture an image. Does not matter if i use Imagex, or ImageW. It does not matter what machine I deploy the script to. Has anyone seen this before. It is very frustrating.
